SPRING SESSION AS POSTED:
Clay Art—The Clay Zone: (Grades K-8) Success oriented ceramic art projects for beginning and advanced students. During the last session the students made 5 projects: small sculptures, a stoneware mug, an artistic soap/lotion dispenser, a lamp and a clock. For Spring session we will be building a mug or two tea-cups with saucers, a teapot, a slightly upgraded lamp and a table clock project with a larger clock insert. Projects are designed to enhance the learning process by working with carefully prepared clay extrusions and slabs specially made for each project. The students are able to build more quickly and apply and learn more advanced building and decorating techniques. Projects usually have two clay work sessions and one glazing work session. Specific project lists will be designed around the students that sign up - depending on age and experience but the first class day for all will be building a mug or two tea-cups and the second will be glazing the them. The clay bodies are high fired stoneware and the glazes are handmade, food and microwave safe. The projects make excellent keepsakes or gifts and will be something your student can be proud of. The class is taught by a patient, experienced, degreed, professional ceramic artist. A $16.00 hardware fee for the clock and lamp will be included in the tuition. $16.00 hardware + $108.00 tuition = $124.00 paid online. Discounted to $121.00 paid with check. Limit 16. Instructor: Dave D’Urso. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS VIA the website at http://theclayzone.com or by (360) 866-0613. Room #417
